Pauline Lloyd will be telling us about healthcare in Manchester from Georgian times, Manchester’s first infirmary being founded in 1752, to the present day.
Discover the medic with the mummy, the maternity home in a pub, a nursing heroine, the doctor who penned a thesaurus and John Dalton’s opinion of medical students!
All meetings, unless otherwise stated, are held at University Primary Academy Weaverham (formerly known as Wallerscote Community School) on the second Tuesday of the month.
Starts at 7:30pm.
Membership is £15.00 per year. Meetings are free to members of Weaverham History Society, children and students. Visitors are requested to pay £2 at each meeting.
